David is a co-founder and Executive Director of Open mHealth. He comes with a breadth of experience in both domestic and global health, working for organizations like the World Bank and UN Foundation. David holds a master’s degree in health economics and policy from the London School of Economics and a bachelors in chemistry and public health from UC Berkeley.
Ida is a co-founder and Principal Clinical Data Scientist of Open mHealth. She is a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and co-director of Biomedical Informatics for UCSF’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute. She received her MD/PhD from Stanford University.
Emerson Farrugia is Open mHealth’s Chief Software Architect. He has nine years of experience designing and building distributed systems, having helped startups and multinationals create systems that scale. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from GMU.
Katie McCurdy leads design for Open mHealth. By combining her background as a chronic patient with her passion for UX design and research, she aims to empower patients and improve the experience of stakeholders throughout the healthcare system.
Jasper is a front-end focused software engineer at Open mHealth. He has about ten years of experience working in art, design and technology. He has a bachelor’s from Brown University in engineering + visual arts and a master’s degree in computer music and multimedia and has worked on some cool projects at Tellart and a number of companies around the bay area.
Simona Carini is Open mHealth’s Data Scientist. Her background includes nursing, clinical data science and medical information science. She received her B.A. from the University of the Sacred Heart (Milan, Italy) and M.A. from Mills College, CA.
Chris is a back-end software engineer at Open mHealth. He is currently a PhD candidate in computer science at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on health informatics and translating people’s experiences into technologies that promote healthy lifestyles.
Kyle Bella currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, and is the Office Manager at Open mHealth. Outside of work, he does freelance writing on a variety of social issues, and runs a storytelling and advocacy campaign around HIV/AIDS among people under 30.
Peter is Development Director of Open mHealth and oversees all business development efforts. He is also co-proprietor of New Work City and has owned and operated multiple technology businesses.
